Causes of Candida

Candida albicans is a type of yeast that normally inhabits the body.  It can be found on the skin and within the mucous membranes, especially in the digestive tract.  Normally, candida is completely harmless and its numbers are kept in check by other microflora, such as friendly bacteria, that are found in the body. However, there are occasions when the population of candida is allowed to grow out of control.  A compromised immune system, the use of antibiotics, or the consumption of refined sugars, chlorinated water, and alcohol, are all possible causes of candida overgrowth.  This overgrowth can then create harmful side effects within the body.

What Are The Causes Of Candida Overgrowth?

Everyone has some amount of candida yeast in his or her body.  In small amounts, this yeast actually plays a small role in the functioning of the body.  Candida acts as a natural antibiotic that helps to control the growth of bacteria. In turn, the population of candida is kept in check by these bacteria. This forms a natural balance in the digestive system that aids in the breakdown and absorption of food.

But this balance can easily be altered and when that happens, the population of candida may be allowed to grow unchecked.  Here is a look at some of the main causes of candida overgrowth-

· Medications: The use of certain medications such as antiobiotics or the birth control pill
· Chlorine Consumption: Drinking chlorinated water or swimming or bathing in chlorinated water
· Toxin Exposure: Exposure to certain chemical and environmental toxins such as cleaning products, pesticides, herbicides, and bleach.
· Alcohol and Caffeine Consumption: Alcohol and caffeine weaken and place extra stress on the immune system.  Therefore, their consumption leaves the body more susceptible to candida overgrowth.

Symptoms of Candida Overgrowth

Any disruption in the body’s balance of microflora can be a cause of candida overgrowth.  This overgrowth can then lead to harmful side effects or illnesses.  A single yeast cell can produce over seventy toxic substances, which are harmful to the human body.  Symptoms of candida overgrowth include:
· Food allergies
· Chronic fatigue
· Digestive disorders (such as constipation, diarrhea, bloating, and flatulence)
· Appetite changes
· Skin rashes
· Inhibited sex drive
· Muscle aches
· Joint pain
· Weight gain
· Vaginal infection
· Disorders of the immune system
· Headaches and migraines
· Menstrual irregularities
· Depression

Getting Rid of Candida

Treating a candida overgrowth involves treating the causes of candida as well as eliminating the excess candida from the system.  Candida feeds off of the food that you eat, especially sugars and starches.  So in order to eliminate candida, you must first eliminate these foods from your diet.  Here are some more tips for addressing the causes of candida and treating a candida overgrowth.
· Avoid the use of antibiotics except in an extreme emergency.  Antibiotics, as their name implies kill off all bacteria, even the healthy bacteria that help to control candida populations.
· Stay away from chlorinated water
· Avoid all processed and refined sugars and the foods that contain them.
· Eliminate fruits and fruit juices from your diet, as these are another source of sugar.
· Avoid all refined flour products including grains, pasta, cereals, and breads.  Use sprouted whole grains, such as barley or sprouted wheat for breads.
· Do not consume caffeine (in products such as sodas, chocolate, and coffee) or alcohol.
· Drink plenty of water to keep the digestive system clean
· Use lots of garlic in your cooking to eliminate fungus
· Use an anti-fungal supplement, such as Mycozil, to inhibit the growth of candida.  Mycozil contains five powerful anti-fungal ingredients as well as a probiotic supplement to eliminate candida and reestablish the balance of microflora in the digestive system.

Completely eliminating a candida overgrowth will take several months of patience and dedication.  Once you have completed this process and are sure that your symptoms have dissipated, you can gradually begin to reintroduce fruits and other naturally occurring sugars back into your diet.  Just be careful to reintroduce foods one at a time, and eliminate any food from your diet that seems to cause your symptoms to return.

Fungus Research L.L.C. recommends the potent, all natural formula Mycozil for the treatment of yeast infections, athlete's foot fungus, nail fungus, and toenail fungus.  Mycozil is a powerful internal anti-fungal formula, which is highly effective against all fungal infections.
